President's Welcome

Greetings from the Fort Worth Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc!
“An organization of college educated women committed to the constructive development of its members and to public service with a primary focus on the Black community” is the mission of a sisterhood founded in 1913 by 22 illustrious young women, dedicated to academic excellence and social action – Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Their vision grew to over 300,000 members world-wide.
Chartered in 1938 as Beta Rho, the Fort Worth Alumnae Chapter continues to epitomize that same commitment to scholarship and service in the Fort Worth area. We are proud to boast as home of the Southwest Regional Director, Michelle R. Brown and as one of the hosts of the 2020 Southwest Regional Conference. Our members are devoted to the continuous improvement and advancement of this community.
The sorority’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust provides the context for our projects and activities:
- Economic Development
- Educational Development
- Political Awareness and Involvement
- Physical and Mental Health
- International Awareness and Involvement
Our goal is to leave a lasting imprint on the lives that we touch, whether we are mentoring youth, educating the public on financial fortitude, supporting the political process, feeding the hungry, or collaborating with other organizations to meet a common need. Although we average 200 members, we have the heart of a large family, embracing Fort Worth and the surrounding areas, functioning as an integral part of the community.
We welcome you to visit our website regularly and to join us for upcoming activities and events. Discover the uniqueness of Fort Worth Alumnae.
Yours in Service,
Angela L. Smith
